In my previous blog I shared three tips for making successful videos. These tips were 1. defining what success means to you, 2. be a leader, not a follower, and 3. commit. For further explanation of these tips, feel free to go back and read my previous blog. In this blog I will continue to share more tips for making successful videos. As I have said in my previous blog, these tips may help you increase your video making success, though there is no guarantee that you will begin making viral videos.
One very important factor in becoming successful in making videos is to focus on your video content. In order to become popular in the online community, you need to be thinking about your viewers and provide quality content that they want to see. You don't want your viewers to simply watch a video and think "that was good". You want your videos to impact your viewers enough to make them want to share your videos with their friends.
Another suggestion is to post your videos onto more than one site. YouTube, Vimeo, and Daily Motion are some sites that you can post your videos too; there are many more sites like these as well that you may want to check out. Also, brainstorm other areas that you can add your video to. Perhaps there are some blogs that you know about that may be interested in your video content. Simply share your video link in a comment on the blog. These are just some examples. Just sit down and think carefully and I am sure that you will come up with more ideas on your own.
The last, and possibly greatest, tip that I am going to leave with you is to WATCH, LISTEN, and CONSUME. If you want to be creative, you must surround yourself with creativity. Pick up a book, read a magazine, listen to music, turn on a movie, sit down at the computer and watch webisodes. No creative idea has ever been uninspired. Go out there, learn from other works, and find your own inspiration.
These tips are offered in hopes that they may help you down the path to making successful videos. They are not, however, set guidelines and should not be treated as such. There are many different ways to go about making videos. Ultimately it is simply up to you. My greatest advice is to simply pick up a camera and begin shooting. Have fun!
